This event, broadcast worldwide, strenghtened Kissin's career and aura. Twenty years later, Evgeny Kissin joins the Berliner Philharmoniker to perform a new Silversterkonzert! An exceptionnal gala concert conducted by Sir Simon Rattlein a wonderful programme, including the outsanding Grieg's Concerto for piano. You will also enjoy remarkable pieces by Dvořák, Brahms, Strauss, Stravinsky and Ravel.

© DR Evgeny Kissin, « The gift of music » A film by Christopher Nupen Christopher Nupen's documentary gives us insight into the international career of the prodigee child, whose gift for music was exceptional. The film shows Evgeny Kissin in preparation, interview, rehearsal and performance. It also contains footage from the pianist's memorable Promenade concert at the Royal Albert Hall in August 1997, when he was only 24. This concert was an outstanding event in the history of the Festival. The music performed by Evgeny Kissin in the film includes mazurkas and nocturnes by Chopin, excerpts from Liszt's Etudes, or Moments musicaux by Schubert. Evgeny Kissin performs Chopin Verbier Festival 2009 Evgeny Kissin often performs the great romantic composers, such as Chopin, Liszt or Schumann. At twelve years old, he had already recorded the two Chopin concertos! Invited by the Verbier Festival Orchestra and its music director Charles Dutoit, Evgeny Kissin plays the Second piano concerto by Chopin, a milestone of the Romantic music, performed here with the depth and the almost dreamy lyricism which caracterize the Chopinmasterpieces. The pianist gives in the second part of this programme a rendition of some of the most gorgeous pages of theChopin Études.
