© Tim Thumb / Bel Air Media Tugan Sokiev conducts the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse   Thursday, December 15th, at 7pm GMT Live from la Halle aux grains, Toulouse  The Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse expands its international presence with a first partnership withmedici.tv.  Its Music Director Tugan Sokhiev will conduct a beautiful program featuring Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet's Overture followed by the Songs and Dances of Deathwritten by Mussorgsky. These melodies will be performed by the Russian mezzo-soprano Olga Borodina. A milestone of the Romantic symphonic repertoire, Brahms'First Symphony, will then brightly end the concert.  This concert is the first of a special series of eventsfeaturing the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse to be broadcast live on medici.tv. © Classiquenews Les Arts Florissants perform Monteverdi Madrigals Friday, December 16th, at 7pm GMT Live from the Cité de la musique, Paris   Watch the second part of Monteverdi's complete Madrigals series performed by Les Arts Florissantsconducted by Paul Agnew, live from the Cité de la Musique! Nine of the twenty Madrigals included in Book 2 feature pastorals scenes inspired by the poet Torquato Tasso, known at  that time as Italy's greatest epic poet. Among others, Madrigal No. 10 « S’andasse amor a caccia » is a beautiful romantic huntig scene, and No. 12 « Ecco mormorar l’onde » wondrously illustrates water's shuddering and birds' singing.

Itzhak Perlman, virtuoso violonist This documentary by Christopher Nupen is a compelling look at the formative years and extraordinary career of Itzhak Perlman. It is a brilliant combination of portraits, excertps of performances and rehearsals with Pinchas Zukermanand Vladimir Ashkenazy. Despite a polio that he contracted at the age of four, he became one of our time's greatest violinist.Christopher Nupen depicts his determination and most of all his highly charismatic character. Brahms Violin Concerto  Itzhak Perlman brightly performs one of the Romantic era's major piece, Brahms Violin Concerto in D. He is accompagnied by thePhilharmonia Orchestra conducted by Lawrence Foster . Lawrence Foster and Itzhak Perlman are close friends and their complicity enlightens the masterpiece until the final « Allegro Giocoso ». Bach Partitas No. 2 and No. 3 This performances of Bach's Partita No. 3 and Partita No. 4 for solo violinby Itzhak Perlman were shot during one of the BBC lunchtime concerts, and are another gem in Christopher Nupen's archive material.  This recordings are recognized as an undeniable reference and a classic for every violinist.
