A ‘Ring’ Finale of Gods and the Machine
By ANTHONY TOMMASINI
“Götterdämmerung,” the final installment in the Metropolitan Opera’s new production of Wagner’s “Ring” cycle, is the most theatrically effective staging of the four works in the series.

Patricia Petibon (picture) will be "The sorrowful mother who stood still" in the Stabat Mater by Poulenc (a dark and deep work, far from the well-known joyful atmospheres of Poulenc's music), then the soloist of the famous Requiem by Fauré with Lionel Lhote. It is interesting to note that the organ used at the world premiere of this work was the one which is now used at the Auditorium de Lyon.
