NEW RELEASE: MAHLER 9

Deutsche Grammophon releases Gustavo's latest recording for the Yellow Label, Mahler's Ninth Symphony with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, recorded live at Walt Disney Concert Hall as part of Gustavo's landmark Mahler Project.

“I waited a long time to conduct this symphony”, says Gustavo. “It embodies all the deep, personal dualities at the heart of Mahler’s music: life and death, love and fear, hope and despair. It is a very special kind of music – breathtaking . . . perfect.” Gustavo's new recording is now available in Germany and the UK, with forthcoming releases in Australia (February 8), the United States (February 19), and France (March 18). Order the album here.

SANTO DOMINGO CONCERTS WITH BOLÍVARS

This February, Gustavo reunites with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela for two concerts at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. For their first performance on February 6, Gustavo and the Bolívars offer a program of Latin American and French sounds: Venezuelan composer Evencio Castellano's Santa Cruz de Pacairigua and Silvestre Revueltas's La noche de los Mayas alongside the second suite from Ravel's Daphnis et Chloe. On February 7, Gustavo and the Bolívars perform Mahler's magnificent Fifth Symphony.
