Scott Bearden once said that he would sing in the Okefenokee Swamp if someone paid him. That's how devoted the big baritone is to his art: He will go anywhere to sing - and does, crisscrossing the U.S. for regional operatic productions, from Raleigh-Durham to Silicon Valley, where Opera San José audiences have for years cheered his abounding voice and dramatically charged performances.
