Staged by Benoit Jacquot and starring Jonas Kaufmann(Werther), Sophie Koch (Charlotte) and Ludovic Tézier(Albert), this masterpiece based on Goethe's Leiden des jungen Werthers depicts one of opera repertoire’s most moving love story. The sensitive and romantic poet Werther faces Charlotte’s resolution to marry another man, Albert. The Orchestre de l'Opéra de Paris is conducted by the conductor Michel Plasson, a French music specialist. Samson et Dalila Opéra de Flandres This 2009-Opéra de Flandres-production stages Torsten Kerl (Samson) and Marianna Tarasova (Dalila) in Saint-Saëns' opera Samson et Dalila. While the original script depicts a story of betrayal in the context of Hebraic and Philistines’ historical conflict, this adaptation by the two Israelian and Palestinian directorsOmri Nitzan and Amir Nizar Zuabi takes places in the contemporary Middle East. The Orchestre symphonique and Chœur de l'Opéra de Flandres are conducted by the Czech conductor Tomáš Netopil.
