Watch Gustavo discuss his relationship with the LA Phil LA PHIL MOZART/DA PONTE TRILOGY CONTINUES WITH THE MARRIAGE OF FIGARO On May 17, 19, 23, and 25, Gustavo Dudamel leads the LA Phil in the second installment of the Mozart/Da Ponte Trilogy with The Marriage of Figaro. Staged by director Christopher Alden, the production features a stellar international cast, sets by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Jean-Nouvel, and costumes by couturier Azzedine Alaïa. Learn more. Preview set & costumes designs from the LA Phil's production of The Marriage of Figaro GUSTAVO DUDAMEL RETURNS TO GOTHENBURG SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PODIUM AS HONORARY CONDUCTOR Gustavo Dudamel returns to conduct the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra as Honorary Conductor at the end of May, leading the Swedish ensemble at home in Gothenburg (May 30, 31), in Stockholm (June 1), and in Helsinki (June 2). Gustavo and the GSO's program opens with Swedish composer Anders Hillborg's Cold Heat before turning to Prokofiev's dazzling First Violin Concerto with guest soloist Lisa Batiashvili. The concerts closes with Dvorak's Ninth Symphony, From the New World. Beethoven 5 with the GSO LANG LANG GUESTS WITH BOLÍVARS It's changed the image and mentality in the classical music world. Gustavo and the Berliner Philharmoniker, joined by cellist Gautier Capuçon, performed a program featuring Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Haydn's Cello Concerto in C with guest soloist Gautier Capuçon, and Beethoven's Fifth Symphony. Order the DVD here.
