ROYAL CONCERTGEBOUW ORCHESTRA CONCERTS IN AMSTERDAM, COLOGNE, PARIS


Gustavo Dudamel begins the month of June leading the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra at its home in Amsterdam (June 5 & 6) and on tour in Cologne (June 7) and Paris (June 8). For their concerts together, Gustavo and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra present a program inspired by the Americas, performing Esteban Benzecry's Colores de la Cruz del Sur, Antonín Dvorák's Symphony No. 9, "From the New World," and Peter Lieberson's Neruda Songswith mezzo-soprano Christianne Stotijn.

Gustavo last appeared in the Dutch capital as part of the Holland 2012 Festival while on tour with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela.

GUSTAVO GUEST CONDUCTS ORCHESTRA DELL'ACCADEMIA NAZIONALE DI SANTA CECILIA

As part of his European appearances this June, Gustavo returns to guest conduct the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia June 15, 17, and 18 at Rome's Parco della Musica. The Venezuelan conductor opens the concerts with Wagner's Siegfried Idyll before turning to Haydn's Symphony No. 96, "Miracle" and Schumann's glorious Symphony No. 3, "Rhenish."

STAATSKAPELLE BERLIN BENEFIT CONCERT

On June 23, Gustavo will lead a charity concert benefiting the reconstruction of the Staatsoper Unter den Linden, conducting its orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, in Schubert's Symphony No. 8, "Unfinished," and Mahler's Symphony No. 4 with guest soloist Christine Schäfer. The benefit concert takes place at the German capital's Philharmonie. 

THE RITE OF SPRING TURNS 100

Last week marked 100 years since Stravinsky's Rite of Spring premiered in Paris at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, with choreography by Vaslav Nijinsky. Here's a clip of Gustavo & the Bolívars performing the music to Stravinsky's ballet at their April 23 concert in Caracas earlier this year.

BOLÍVAR SUMMER CONCERTS INCLUDETANNHÄUSER IN BOGOTÁ, MAHLER & MOZART AT SALZBURG FESTIVAL


This summer, Gustavo reunites with the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela for two series of performances in Latin America and in Europe. From July 13 to 18, Gustavo will lead the Bolívars for performances of Wagner's Tannhäuser at Bogotá'sOpera de Colombia.

From Colombia, Gustavo and the Bolívars head to Austria to present five concerts at the Salzburg Festival, beginning with Mahler's monumental Symphony of a Thousand on July 24, followed byMahler's Third Symphony with mezzo-soprano Anna Larsson on July 30 and Seventh Symphony on August 3. While in Salzburg, Gustavo also conducts two performances of Mozart's Mass in C Minor at the Stiftskirche St. Peter with sopranos Anna Prohaska and Roberta Invernizzi, tenor Mauro Peter, and bass Florian Boesch.
