It's hard to believe that a musical entertainment first mounted in 1724 could be so ecstatically entertaining, wildly hilarious and whimsically joyous. But that's exactly the kind of extravaganza that the Lyric Opera of Chicago has succeeded in presenting with its Lyric premiere of George Frideric Handel's "Giulio Cesare" (Julius Caesar).
