A la tête du Swedish Royal Philharmonic, Yuri Temirkanov donnera l’Ouverture festive de Chostakovitch puis sera rejoint par Martha Argerich qui interprétera le Concerto pour piano en sol de Ravel, l’un des Concertos qu’elle affectionne tout particulièrement. Le concert se terminera avec des extraits des deux Suites de Roméo et Juliette de Prokofiev, œuvres à l’orchestration incroyablement colorée.
At the head of the Swedish Royal Philharmonic, as is customary with the Nobel Concert, Yuri Temirkanov will give Shostakovich’s Festive Overture and will then be joined by Martha Argerich. Together they will perform Ravel’s piano Concerto in G major, one of Argerich’s favorite concertos. Temirkanov will conclude the concert with excerpts of Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet Suites, two highly colourful pieces.
