Gustavo Dudamel returns to conduct Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra  
 
This month, Gustavo Dudamel returns to conduct the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra and embarks on a six-city touracross Sweden, Portugal, and Spain with the ensemble. Now in his fifth year as Music Director of the orchestra, Gustavo performs two of Richard Strauss's tone poems, Don Juan and Also Sprach Zarathustra, as well as Haydn's Symphony No. 103, "Drumroll" with the GSO on March 21 and 22. They reprise this music at Stockholm's Konserthus on March 24. Gustavo and the GSO then take their program of Strauss and Haydn on the road to Spain and Portugal, with performances in Lisbon (March 27), La Coruña (March 28), Oviedo (March 29), Murcia (March 30), and Madrid (March 31)....>> More 
New Album: Discoveries to be released internationally

This month, Deutsche Grammophon begins a string of international releases for Discoveries, Gustavo Dudamel's first album of orchestral favorites. The recording features works by artists from Beethoven to Bernstein and several tracks never before released on CD, including highlights from Mendelssohn's 'Scottish' Symphony and the 'Bacchanale' from Saint-Saëns' Samson et Delila.

Gustavo's latest Deutsche Grammophon disc will be released in two formats: CD stand alone and CD + DVD. The DVD includes the prize-winning, critically-acclaimed documentary by Enrique Sánchez Lansch, The Promise of Music, which chronicles the story of Gustavo and the Simón Bolívar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela.

Discoveries will be released in Spain on March 20, with releases in France, Sweden, Holland, Belgium and Germany scheduled for this April, the UK this June, and Japan and the US this fall. Please check back for details.

Gustavo leads the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France at the Salle Pleyel

This April, Gustavo will lead the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France in performances of all four of Johannes Brahms's symphonies at Paris's Salle Pleyel. On April 13, he and the orchestra perform Symphonies nos. 1 and 3, and on April 20, they take on nos. 2 and 4. Gustavo recently garnered a Grammy Award for his recording with the Los Angeles Philharmonic of Brahms's Fourth Symphony, an album you can learn more about here.

This Sunday, Gustavo & Herbie Hancock in LA Phil LIVE broadcast

This Sunday March 18, Gustavo Dudamel and jazz legend Herbie Hancock celebrate the music of George Gershwin in the third and final LA Phil LIVE broadcast of the 2011/12 season. 
 
You can experience Gustavo's performance with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in a pre-recorded broadcast from the LA Phil's 2011/12 season Opening Night Concert at Walt Disney Concert Hall. Gustavo leads the Orchestra in Gershwin's Cuban OvertureAn American in Paris, and Rhapsody in Blue, as well as intimate solo improvisations by Hancock on "Embraceable You" and "Someone to Watch Over Me." The event also features exclusive footage of Hancock - the LA Phil's Creative Chair for Jazz - in his home, playing Gershwin and providing insights into his improvisational process. 
 
The broadcast will show at 2pm local time in theaters across the United States.
