Subscriptions for the 2011-12 LA Phil season are still available, and as of last Sunday single tickets are now on sale to the general public. Highlights of Dudamel's upcoming season with the LA Phil include performances of all nine Mahler symphonies in a collaboration between the LA Phil and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra of Venezuela; a staged production of Don Giovanni, the first of three Mozart-Da Ponte operas to be produced over the course of three seasons, each one a partnership with an iconic architect and leading fashion designers; the world premiere of John Adams's new oratorio, The Gospel According to the Other Mary; and the world premiere of Enrico Chapela's Concerto for Electric Cello with Johannes Moser as soloist.

Dudamel will also be featured in three LA Phil LIVE transmissions to movie theaters across the US and Canada, including a monumental concert in Caracas, Venezuela featuring the combined forces of the LA Phil and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra performing Mahler's Eighth Symphony, "Symphony of a Thousand."

This September Dudamel returns to Sweden to begin his fifth season as Music Director of the Gothenburg Symphony. He and the orchestra open the 2011-12 season with performances of Mahler's Seventh Symphony on September 8, 9 and 10 at Gothenburg's Great Hall.

Following the opening week, Dudamel leads the orchestra in the world premiere of Karin Rehnqvist's Tiger Touch. The program for these concerts also includes Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with Martin Fröst as soloist and Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony.  Tiger Touch is being commissioned by the GSO in honor of its Maestro's 30th birthday, which he celebrated earlier this year.
